About Pathways
PATHWAYS MISSION: Pathways offers unique environments where God encounters people and renews them to live lives of love.
Pathways was incorporated as a Minnesota 501( c )( 3 ) corporation in 1969 with the intent of coordinating the camping, retreat, and outdoor ministry programs for Lutheran churches in Northwestern Minnesota. The name “Pathways” was chosen because it represents how the Bible camping ministry builds pathways to God, to self, to others, and to nature. Pathways owns and operates two camp facilities: Camp Minne-Wa-Kan near Cass Lake, Minnesota and Lake of the Woods Bible Camp near Baudette, Minnesota. Pathways also leases and operates Camp Emmaus near Menahga, Minnesota.
Pathways is composed of an association of nearly 100 member congregations from the Northwest Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Congregations become members by supporting Pathways through prayer, volunteering, programming, and financial giving. Member benefits include reduced rates, earlybird registration access, and voting rights. A volunteer Board of Directors is elected by delegates from the member congregations. The Board hires an Executive Director who hires other year-round staff members. Together the staff, Board of Directors, and member congregations work towards fullfilling Pathways Mission.
The Board of Directors and Pathways staff are available for questions and comments about long range planning, programming, facilities, financial development, and other aspects of our ministry. The full time Pathways staff work to develop programs, improve facilities, raise funds, market programs, staff retreat groups, visit chruches and individuals, hire the summer ministry team, register campers and retreaters, and much more. We are always interested in your ideas to make Pathways even better! Select this link to see our Current Board of Directors.
